how fast can you go on stock potenza tires and parking procedure

i was wondering how fast anyone here has gone on the stock bridgstone potenza tires.
i was also wondering, when you park in your 6mt. do you leave it in first and pull the ebrake or do you just pull the ebrake? is there any reason why i should do it a certain way? leave in first, dont leave in first?

About 120 at Watkins Glenn on the the OEM's
You never want to just use the ebrake! There are threads about cars rolling away on people that just use the ebrake and this is not just a RX-8 thing. Put it in 1st when parking on an incline, reverse when parking on a decline. Also get into the habit of looking at your shifter when starting. The dealership could park your car in gear which can be interesting if you don't know about it when starting.

^^Like he said check the shifter when starting, I was a victim of an accident where my 8 crash my other car when I start the car from the outside. Bad result

ammm...do you not have to depress the clutch in order to start the car? Maybe it's a Canadian thing, but I would have thought it was standard everywhere.

That way we cannot start the car in gear by accident...ever.

My car won't start unless I press the clutch in being it in gear or in neutral.

i've been 150mph on the stock tires.

as far as parking, when i'm on level ground i only use the e-break but if i'm on any sort of an incline or decline i put it in gear. i had a bad experience when i was over at at a lady friends house and her street has a pretty good incline, it was about 1am or so when i walked out the front door, it was very dark no street lights. and i didn't see my car out front, at first i thought someone had stolen it or something cuz i didn't see it down the street, then i unlocked it and saw blinking orange lights in a yard 3 houses down. it didn't it anything and didn't mess up the yard, i was really lucky, the e-brake was up but it had one or two more clicks left to go. it must have rolled slowly cuz the brake was up pretty good, but from then on i always put it in gear if i'm parking on unlevel ground!!!!!!

120 on VIR's main straight. Also, if you've taken it to the track, NEVER set your e-brake when you get off the track. There are potential issues with boiling brake fluid and warping rotors.

Edit: Actually I had the OE Dunlops. Wonderful tires while they lasted.

135+ several times, often 125+ on Interstate straightaways, on worn originals (4/32)...baby gets a new set for Christmas. Even had one patched...no problems.

I've been 135mph on stock Dunlop 8090's. They are AWESOME tires but unfortunately cost an arm and a leg to replace.

Also, the tires are 'W' rated, which means their maximum speed is 168 mph.

Down here I rarely park on a road that isn't flat, so I almost never put it in gear when applying parking brake.

I put the car in gear and use the e-brake when I park, just in case it gets hit hard (hopefully not) or the e-brake fails.

You can go as fast as your tire rating recommends.

NO forced induction, just a long stretch of highway, and yes i know its not the smartest thing to do, but i will say that there were no other cars on the road. being NA the car doesnt wana go past 150 to save its life, haha, been there or close a few times though
