It's no mistake my last seven cars have been MTX's and my wife only will drive an automatic. God forbid I should ever break my left leg...

I don't mind my g/f driving my car... yet another reason I went automatic. Accidents happen.. :P

Luckily some touch up paint works wonders.

ned m she never even dreamed of driving the fd before.she was some what scared of getting behind the wheel of it.wonder why?

well after seeing the wheel i felt hurt. i couldnt imagine it ever being damaged.but stuff happens
im gonna go tommorow and see how much they want at repair shop im gonna get the whole lip taken off, snaded down and re-cromed..my boy has his maido wheels and my b.f dronnel wheel there for 3 weeks.ouch

In Southside Birmingham, AL, they have these massive stone curbs. I was "parallel" parking (quotes because there was only a car behind me), backing in, and I got a little too close. I have about a scratch on the wheel the size of a thumb print, as well as various nicks around the 1/2 of the outside, on my front passengers side. I was a little pissed, but I got over it. Most people won't notice unless I mention it.

The problem is that my wheels get dirty from break / road dust. With the scratch being very rough, dirt gets in the cracks and it becomes more noticeable. I decided I'd take some fine grit sand paper and try to smooth it out. That worked okay. The metal on the wheels is really really soft, and the coating over them is even worse.

It makes me wonder if some nice "rallye style" wheels would stand up to a little more abuse. I kinda like how white wheels look. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them, as a google search for "white wheels rims" doesn't do much.

But, hey. At least it is on the passengers side, so I don't have to see it much more than once a week when I wash my car.

Hey, this is a new idiot. I (the original idiot) have stayed safely away from curbs since my first incident.

Funny though, my girlfriend has been asking when she gets to drive my new 8. I told her she could, but I will be in the car with her. And just to avoid curbs, I will start and end her drive in a parking lot.

Also, I think that if I macked the wheels twice in a one week period, that I would not fess up to that on an RX8 enthusiasts board.
