Help with painting rims

I have a winning blue 8 and am considering painting the rims gold. For those who have done this or know how to do it i would appreciate some instructions on how to do it. Initially i would like to be able to paint them and still be able to get the paint off , but i would also like to be able to know how to do it permanently as well.

Permanently? You will not be able to do anything permanent with just spray can paint. It does not have any hardener in it, so it will always remain relatively soft and easily damaged. (it can look good for a while though_ I have done spray can jobs on wheels and whole vehicles in the past- prep prep prep- it is all about prep work)

And I have a winning blue RX-8, and have considered painting the wheels. But gold wheels with the winning blue car? Isn't that a bit way too Subaru racing color scheme?

Honestly- I would take it to a professional painter and have the inside painted to match the car, and the lip painted glossy silver )or even just the machined/polished alluminum)- and all deeply clear coated

don't paint it, paint will come off easy and will look ugly, you can powdercoat it, its the best way to do it and its also cheap. I also have a candy blue Rx8 and i had rims powdercoated gunmetal color and everybody who looked at it said there is not way those are stock rims. So go with powdercoating, bronze color looks good as well. good luck
