we all know why race cars employ negative camber but purpose-driven alignment specs =/= camber settings used to fit a wheel flush

Exactly what I'm talking about.

Negative Camber to fit wheels is completely different than negative camber for corner grip. The negative camber seen in all of the race cars tony posted is the outcome of hours upon hours of testing to get the best mechanical grip possible.

Running -5 degrees of camber so the tires tuck does not mean you're getting any better performance. ever. period.

BTW the rx8 you posted has like a ton of wheel gap, that pic is just a weird angle.

some 996 spec cars run -6 camber, but you'd be dumb to do that on a street car

Different cars, tire compounds, etc call for different amounts of static camber. This is a whole other conversation.
