GI: Custom made PPF

Just throwing this out there. I am not selling this as of yet just seeing if there is any sort of interest in it.

I built this PPF just before the Mazdaspeed North show here in Toronto about a month ago to see if anyone would have any sort of interest in such a thing.

After doing a few clutches on some customers RX-8's I was surprised to feel how heavy the stock PPF is so I thought maybe I'll build one to see if I can shave some weight.

I dont have exact weights because I dont have a scale at my shop....maybe I'll get around to doing that this week.

Its made out of 1" tube 1/16th wall DOM and the sheet metal is 18gauge that has been dimpled for strength.

The picture above is clearly a prototype and was never intended to be installed on a car.

SR Motorsports sell one for $600......if I did ever build any I would be selling these for roughly half that.

Let me know if there is interest, I'm already getting the brackets laser cut for a PPF designed to attach the RX-8 diff to a T-56 trans for our LS1 convertion kit.

Thanks guys

Joe

I'd be interested if you can maintain strength while lowering weight by 20+ pounds
