Finally ordering RPF1s, need tire help
I was thinking about a 255/35 or a 255/40. I wouldnt be against going wider but i am trying to keep the tires under $200. Can anyone suggest what they are riding on or any good feedback. The wheels are the 18x9.5 if you havent guessed.

I've got Kumho MX 275/35, they were about $197 per tire. Have logged a few hundred track miles and I have no real complaints about the tires.

i guess i should also mention that these will also be my daily driver tire aswell. I have a beatup subaru for when it rains and snows, so bad weather really isnt a concern.

I've been running the Azenis 275's on these rims as my daily driver....as well.
Other than a bit more tramlining than stock they have been great. Good wet traction....and good enough performance at the track to keep me satisfied. I've run 12 days at the track and have put 16K miles on them since new...and they are wearing better than expected.

i certainly dont have FI, i just want something that will sit nicely on these wheels and allow me to rip apart turns. Again, wet traction is not an issue becuase i have a second beater subaru that i usually use if its anything but dry out.

Have you guys noticed any significant gains in acceleration with these wheels? Is the weight for 18x9 17.2 lbs, or 18.3 lbs. ?
For those of you with the Falkens and the Kumhos, how might these tires compare with the Toyo T1-S in terms of grip, ride quality, tread ware, etc. ?

Can't say I've noticed a difference in acceleration. There is a dramatic difference in grip, as expected. The RP-F1s weigh about 17lbs or just a bit above, I've seen quotes on the factory wheels being anywhere from 21.5 to 22.5lbs.
I can't comment on the Toyo vs. Kumho as I have no experience with the Toyo. From what I gathered the Toyos have soft sidewalls. I do have the MX and am very happy with them and they are holding up very well after a few hundred track miles. I think from all the reviews the Falken 615 is probably the best street/track tire you could go with targeting that $200-225 per tire price range. I would have purchased those but I had reservations about using them in the rain because of their tread pattern.
