Finally did something right
I have been spreading the word about how good I thought the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's were. They are the best high performance summer tire I have ever owned, although they are not cheap.
December 2005 Motor Trend has done a very extensive article testing the top 11 performance tires and some of the results are surprising. I will list in order of best to worst rating;
1. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 .094 g on dry - .82 g wet
2. Continental ContiSport Contact 2 - I was surprised due to their resonable price
3. Yokahama Advan Neova ADO7
4. Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
5. Hankook Ventus R-S2 Z212
6. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx
7. Pirelli P Zero Rosso Asimetrico
8. Toyo Proxes T1R - I had these tires on my Prelude - they sucked
9. Bridgestone Potenza REO50A
10.BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD
11.Kumho Ecsta MX
The article went into a good amount of depth and was very informative.

Interesting. I have the #4 on the list.
Will have to compare what they said that was different than The Tire Rack, which rated the PS2 higher than the F1.

Bummed, but bring on OU!
Why do they never test the BFG KDW2's?
Dry traction is superb, and wet traction is nearly unbeatable. At $160 each they're hard to pass up.
.98 dry .86 wet on the pad at tirerack, on an IS300 for the KDW2's
.94 dry .91 wet, same car for the Goodyears
lap times: IS300
Goodyears: dry 31.30 wet 31.97
BFGs: dry 30.84 wet 32.67
By all accounts both are very good tires, but at $40 less per tire...
Goodyears are definately much quieter though.
