Falken FK-452 or Toyo Proxes T1R?

I want to replace my tires bridgestone potenza r040 and after research it by perfomance/price I want to know your opinion which one to pick.

Thank you very much for your help!

I don't have an experience with the Falken's but I've got a few friends with Toyo T1R's on their RX-8's and they love them!

I personally went with Kumho Ecsta MX's...they rock!

First week on my T1R's - really like them - not even broken in and still grippy. 2 major rainstorms and no slips. Played slalom in the drizzle and they hung tight. (Not pushing it, just playing)

edgeracing.com basically rates both at identical performance, but they sell the fk452 about $10 cheaper.

It didn't show at Edge when I looked, but when I priced T1R thru a local dealer, he got me a slightly better price on 245/40/18 T1R than on the 225/45. Whichever brand you decide, ask about both sizes.
I went with the 245 and they look nice.

I've heard nothing but good things about the T1R's. That's what I'll be going for when my stock Bridgestones are ready to go.

I've owned both sets and personally I'd pick the TR1 over the Falkens anytime.

More grip in both wet and dry (marginally to be fair) and they tend to last a little longer too. Only issue I have with the TR1's would be the noise....but then again they are performance tires after all

Have you considered the Eagle F1's tho? They are undoubtedly superior, well at least the German made ones. The Thai made Eagle F1's aint as good.

My 2 pesos

had the fk452's installed today, first impression is, wow it's a lot quieter than the worn out RT615's i had lol, steering response seems to be the same as before, will report back later as more miles are put on them...

I am a fan of falkens, I have a set of RT-615s they are a little picky with the pressure, but other that that they are great!
