Falken Azenis RT-615 on daily driver?

Falken Azenis RT-615 on daily driver?

How long would these tires last on a daily driven street car?

I would consider buying a set if they lasted me a single season thru "spring/summer/fall"

Another concern of mine is how they would handle in the rain.

shouldn't be a problem.
wet tractions on those are not that great!

Remember maximun tire life on these babies are 13-15k mile. Rain is somewhat scary and hail or any frost type formation is deadly.. LOL Otherwise great tire.

I ran these tires from April to October and a total of 8 laps on Nurburgring and I should be able to get a few more months out of them in the spring.

I ran these tires for 15 months total. I didn't find any problems with hydroplaning until they were mostly worn out.

I've been using these for over 2 yrs. No problem in the rain at all, not even on track, no hydroplanning. Just like every other tire, once it gets 3/4 worn, it has less wet capability.

These are great DD tires, just no snow.

Wow, that's great! I was not expecting to read these types of replies!

I will definately order a set with Enkei RPF1 18x9.5 wheels.

i actually used mine up to 17k miles... which for my driving lasts less than a year, hence i switched to a more traditional summer tire compound after they wore out, putting on new tires every year gets expensive quick!

not actually fair to say you use it for so many months since ppl drive different distances in so long, number of miles would be much more helpful. i use rt615 on the street right now. tread life has been pretty good to me but the compound has hardened up a lot since i got them and they are not very useful for autox anymore. they are a bit scary to push in the rain but i have not had any problems with hydroplaning or any normal driving.

To clarify the distance I have on these tires is 13,000 km (8077 miles) on the street and 8 laps on the Ring which is about 104 miles of track use. When it rained I had to drive more normal in the rain and no 130 mph on the Autobahn.

I saw them on edgeracing.com for $144 in 245/40-18 and $155 in 225/45-18

that's the cheapest i've found for rt615's as well

and i did buy the 245's since they're wider AND cheaper

Most deferentially.
245/40-18s is almost the same diameter as the oem tires. There will be very little change in the speedo reading.

i bought those tires last august for around 680, and just switched to a different tire last month.. i live in the mountain and practically race the car daily.. haha. but they help up quite well i usually tear the sides of tires up horribly but they held up like nothing else has. i usually need new tires about every five or six months. did good in the rain.. not great though.
trying out nitto neo gens... didnt have much money for anything else at the time.. so far so good though.

Distance is now going to be a good comparison unless your on stock wheel and stock alignment. Mine is almost at the wear mark with only 9k on them. Well my -2 camber in the rear doesn't help either.

Anybody has experiences with 615's on 245-40-18 vs stock 225-45-18 size? I'm concerned about potential "mushiness" of the steering response of the 615s with the wider tire on the stock rim.

Looking to do track days... I'm still learning, so my pace is not very fast FWIW. But I love responsive steering (this is why we have the RX-8, right?)

i have 255/40/18 RT-615 and yes it does feel "mushier" steering response-wise but the grip is exponentially better than the stock 225

also, i've tracked on these tires 3 times already and driven about 7k miles. still plenty of tread.

From your sig, it seems you are running 9.5" wide wheels on those 255's. I would imagine 255's on stock 8" width would be even worse?
