Endlinks are generaly used to help position the sway bar,,, some sway bars have built in adjustments(ie the holes) ultimately you would want to position your sway bar in the most horizontal position allowing it to stabalize the lateral forces as best it can.
these are images form Autoexes site.
The first pic is a sway on a stock ride hieght-horizontal position of the ends of the sway
Second pic is typically what happens when you lower the car the sway starts to take added load from its mis-allingment
The third pic is with Autoexes sway endlinks showing the correct positioning of te sway being restored on a lowered ride.

You adjust the endlink length for that

...the holes in the bar alter the stiffness of the bar......the closer to the end of the bar...the stiffer they are ( longer lever)

That's a huge oversimplification I'm afraid......

It depends......

If everything else is equal it would tend to...but there are so many other variables that are effected.....

Generally softer front/stiffer rear increases tendancy to oversteer......

But where tends to be the problem....

also on tokico d spect with swift springs, agency power sways the blue ones, and evo r endlinks front and rear. yes a little tail happy and hesitates in beginning second of turn holds ok through out but i havent done anything but a drive around the block too cold with tires to try anything much more than a tight 35 mph curve at 55 and once was enough

I'm having difficulty understanding how vastly increasing front bar stiffness will result in more oversteer.....It should make it push more if anything??

Did you lower the car as well? Sounds like an alignment would be a good idea

yes lowered 1.2 all around with rear ap sway and endlinks no problem until front bar and endlinks i may go do that as long as the snow stays clear and i get car back together or i may just wait till it warms up and mess with it then which could be another factor

i thought the swifts only lowered by .8". i hear they are great springs..

first.. get to a track.. you can play with stuff..

and some stuff that works for me..

front tire pressure at 34psi
rear 30

front shocks 2 turns out from full firm.
rears 4 furns out from full firm..

and dan, just to try it. until i get more talent. it is all just fun!

beers

yes your right only .8 the ride is very nice except bumps gotta soften the springs a little. i got a road that runs along a river near my house with lots of tight turns and hills. ever since i bought the 8 every nice weekend i take a few hour drive and handling & responce. everyone that rides with me comments on the handling even the 2 that have had the pleasure of driving it. i know its gonna take some playing around now that you guys got me going in the right direction.

Sorry for the quick thread-jacking but I figured someone here could answer instead of making a whole new thread.

For the sway bar bracket bushings, once they are installed (in the bracket holding up the sway bar), is the sway bar suppose to be rotatable (while endlinks are not connected)? Or is the bar suppose to be completely stationed?
