Enkei RPF1 17x8.5

I am considering the enkei rpf1 17x8.5 40mm offset, with azenis 245/45/17. What do you guys thinks about this combination? Any promblem with the fitment? Any rub against the fenders? The wheel weight 16 lbs.

Thanks in advance

I am considering 17" because I prefer performance, both handling and acceleration, rather than look.

sammy,

Rotor clearance might be an issue but should work for those Enkei wheels.

Your fitment should be perfect. You might get some rubbing in the front but I doubt it. Also in the front the wheel/tire combo might stick out just a couple mm but that is all.

Should work great.

These are well respected in the Miata community, in a 15 or 16 inch size. They supposedly are strong with a nice finish.

I would double check the brake clearence, however. In Miata sizes, the RPF1 does not accomodate larger brakes as well as other wheels. This aspect of the design may carry over into the 17" size - they may not be as accomodating as other 17" wheels in terms of clearing the RX-8s brakes.

I'm still looking around. I like these Enkei's and I have a quote in to their OEM factory, here in Jacksonville, so they may make up my mind for me..............I am loyal to my customers. Mazda has been a great one for years.
I had 7 spoke Motegi's - 17" Gunmetal on my black CL TypeS. Also Comptech 1" lowering springs. Looked great, but I haven't seen that wheel (M7) available for the RX8. Guess I'll keep looking.......
