Eagle 193 17x7 for Winter Wheels - Fitment

Forum

Does anyone have any personal experience with fitment of Eagle 193 17x7 on RX-8 6 speed. These will be for winter use with Toyo Garrit's.

Just had a bad experience with one dealer who 'dry fitted' Motegi's in September. Stated they cleared fine. When my regular tire guys fitted tires and mounted them there was a problem of clearance on front calipers. Wheel dealer actually suggested 'grinding' a bit of the caliper for clearance. I think not. Returned and refunded.

My regular tire guys are bringing the Eagle 193's in for dry fitment. No problem with returning, but it would be nice to see if anyone has some personal experience so I don't get stuck literally when the snow flies here in London, ON.

Also does anyone have personal experience with Toyo Garrit's. I've heard good things, but welcome comments.

Thanks

Bob

Offset: Yes and no

Dear Kartracer

The offset is +40. The offset on the Motegis was in the correct range, but the wheels hit the caliper on the front. Caliper clearance can also be an issue. Test fitted a friends 17x7 Enkeis (from f G35 Coupe) with same tire package. They cleared with an offset of +40. They fit nicely, but not the price or look I'm looking for in a winter wheel.

My understanding is that the offset for the RX-8 is +50

Thanks

Bob
