CV joint going bad?

Its sounds like an outer CV joint going bad, But its coming from the front passenger tire. My question is does the RX8 have front CV Joints. And the follow up question, if yes..where can you purchase them and if not what is used instead (End Links?)or what could make the same noise?

The RX8 doesn't have a CV joint.
Those I believe are only used on front wheel and all drive vehicles.

Rear wheel drive vehicles have universal joints along the drive shaft.

If its a grinding noise/metallic squealing while the car is moving its likely a wheel bearing.

A clunking noise or broken metal popping sound when you slowly go over a hump (like a speed bump or a hump at the end of a driveway) that might be the ball joint

edit:
You should have posted this in the Troubleshooting section.

or (remember double posting is a no-no)

This would also well suited for the Dumb Question no flaming thread.

Could a mod move this over to the dumb questions thread? I wanted to put it there but wasnt sure. Its a slight knocking when i turn right. It sounds exactly like when a CV joint goes bad. Im gonna look at it today and see if anything is messed up and probably just replace the bushings while im down there.

The only thing i saw that could possibly be wrong down there was the bushings on the end link looked split. Could this cause the knocking while turning?

The RX8 has the equivalent of a CV joint in the rear axles

Same thing I've been having for a while. I uograded my sway bar, endlinks, replaced the caliper and the noise is still there. I suspect my front right coilover shock is blown so I'll be replacing that soon, most likely the front pair or all 4 shocks since I feel like its time for an overhaul on them. Hopefully someone else can chime in though with the same issue.

I have the same issue as well. I only hear it on the right passenger side. It sounded like , metal clapping sound. I had removed the wheel and did an visual inspection but everything appears to look fine. On a side note, I can reproduce the sound by turning the wheel all the way to the right until it stop then keep swinging to the right, but can't figure out what it is.
