could I???

love the looks of these wheels - http://www.ebay.com/itm/19-ASTON-MAR...sories&vxp=mtr

after popping out those UGLY (lol) centercaps, how would they look on my 8? If the size (or fitment) would be an issue, has anyone seen something that would fit that looks similar?

Please don't.

Personally, I've never been a fan of using stock wheels from a different car as "aftermarket". Kinda cheesy imo.

"Are those Aston Martin wheels?? ...on a Mazda??..."

btw, check the wheels/suspension forum for all of your questions about fitment n' looks.

LOL yeah, I know lots of folks who'd ask if those are Aston Martin wheels.....uh, no. Just been looking at rims, and typed in titanium in eBays search. Best looking rims I've seen. Guess, I'll try finding an aftermarket one that is similar.

uh, for that price you could get some pretty decent aftermarket wheels that would look a lot better, especially if you're looking used.

Best way to find good wheels, is to look where good wheels are sold. Ebay is rarely one of those places.

never felt a need to replace stock rims....EVER, so I'll hafta find out where good wheels are sold. My last sports car was a Roush, and I liked the rims they came with....buncha trucks before and since, and I never bought one with rims that I didn't like already on it. The rims on the 8, aren't my favorite, so I thought why not; first time for everything.

ps. in fact, I always kinda made fun of people who would buy a car, and then spend thousands more replacing the rims first thing. Why not buy a car with decent looking rims in the first place?! lol. I can't believe I may become one of those people....

Just do some reading on her and you'll be fine.

Check the FS section here as they'll have stuff from time to time. Check other forums as well. Nasioc, evolutionm, etc have a bunch of wheels for sale regularly.

Before that, decide on what you're after, whether it be looks, light weight, or both. Do you want knock-offs or the real thing, aggressive or functional fitment, and after all that, your budget.

Check out the "Will it Fit" sticky, the "Best wheel's" thread, the "Calling all (your color)" thread, and the aggressive fitment thread for ideas on looks, sizing, and prices. There are also a couple "Calling all (brand) wheels" threads too.

Or just ask Atilla, he's a walking wheel encyclopedia.

I will warn you that he only takes payment in the form of nudie pics of you legal aged wife, girlfriend, mom, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt, female in-law, or any combination of the aforementioned people.

a lot of the aftermarket wheels look a little too "busy" for me. Those rims in the WEST section are nearly perfect....but I was thinking that a darker gray (not black) might look really good on my silver car. Price isn't a HUGE concern....guess I'll find better places to look for what I like (not eBay). Like I said, never even contemplated replacing wheels on a vehicle. lol. The initial post was mostly to see if anyone knew of a similar wheel to the Aston Martin wheels....thanks again.

As for the mod stuff....that I'm used to, just was never one into "aesthetic mods".

Although most think wheels are purely for asethetics a stronger, lighter and wider wheel disproves that...especially for the rx8. Most cars that have ample power are usually never concerned about a couple of pounds but considering our typical power output and our ability in cornering, several aspects that are disregarded come into play.

Heavy wheels could add to parasitic loss and narrow specs could limit your ability.

btw, if you like clean and simple looks - check out Volk TE37. 6 spoke design w/great specs and light weight. They also come in multiple colors.

Well, I have looked around a bit, and really like the looks of the Advan T7s.....they do come in a darker gray as well. They seem to be pretty popular in the aftermarket wheel world, which is good and bad. They must be a decent wheel since so many have bought them, but I may see a gazillion cars out there with them on em right after I get them put on mine. lol. still can't get over the fact that I may be buying wheels for a car I just bought.

The t7's are nice. They're a good strong wheel. You can always get them refinished (paint or powder coating) to suit your needs if you find a good deal on a set that aren't the color you want.

That's also a way to set yours off from others.

T7's are nice, so are the TC2's and RG2's.
Rim choice can really define your taste. Advans are a great choice.
That's what I chose.

As others have stated there are several ways to make an already popular wheel unique.

you can also open your options up by looking at the manufacturers...Advan has a great selection of great looking wheels. Same with Volk, enkei, wedsport and Work.

...and don't be discouraged about being 'one of those guys'. At least you didn't buy a set of wheels before you even bought the car

...not that...i would do something like that

p.s. - check out Work xd7

Keep in mind the T7's are a discontinued wheel as well, so rather rare.

Popular in the tuning community for a reason!

Watch out for MB Battle's, as these T7 replicas are far more popular.

If you are seriously interested, feel free to shoot me a PM and we can work on price In either case, however, best of luck with your hunt!
