HELP!!! My front sits higher than my rear

I bought some springs for my car, installed everything correctly and im pretty sure the front is on the front and the rear is on the rear but for some reason the front is higher than the back, like its pretty crazy, the rear i can squeeze one finger in but the front i can put 2 fingers in easily, i dunno whats wrong, can anyone help me???? preload maybe? i havent tried yet but i dunnot if thats gonna work, i really dont wanna cut a coil off, i hope there's another way so i dont have to cut anything...

i see that you've kind-of read, but not enough.

You need to preload the front.

depending on what springs you bought, your back might have less gap than the front, just like it does at stock height. Some springs drop the front more to level the gap, some drop front and rear evenly.

Hopefully you didn't put the rears on the front and vise versa. I would try preloading but who knows with Ebay springs. And if you cut them you are an idiot, especially if they are progressive rate springs.

Good Luck.

That cheap really? You didn't want to spend ~$200 on something as important as springs.

Hopefully those cheap, no name, ebay springs don't come apart on you.

Nope, unless you have the rear springs on the front.

front and back on the bottom of the springs are different size, i measured them to see what was the rear and was was the front, i think it fronts are bigger and the rear are smaller im pretty sure, i had to push reall hard to get the front on the shocks but the rear just dropped in and i just put the shock mount on easy, yeah, the front was tough to get the shock mount to go on

This isn't an old civic. You shouldn't cheap out on one of the major factors that makes this such a driver's car. The suspension.

the bottom of the springs are two different sizes, You'd have to force them onto the perch for one set and they'd be loose as hell on the other.

i might have it on backwards then, not sure, id have to tear it apart again, the front were forced on to get the top back on, the rears were loose, do you remember which is supposed to be loose?

neither are supposed to be overly loose, they should just fit on the lower perch. The shock top most likely will have to be forced down to compress the spring a little bit. If you didn't have to compress the spring at all, you have issues, or will have issues as the spring will be way to short.

Well yeah, the lower perch were fitted perfect al the way around but the top on the front had to be forced down, the rears top just went on with no compression, so im confused on that part O_o and why my front is soooo high lol

sounds like a pretty short spring in the rear.

I've installed 3 sets of s-techs, a set of RSR's, and KW V3's and they've all needed at least a little compression to get the front and rear tops on.

i guess ill go the easy way and pre-load the front first then if that doenst work then ill swap them around, i tighten the front control arm bolt pretty damn tight though, so im assuming that might be the problem too
