Coilovers?

I know theres a lot of threads on coilovers but I wanted some more personalized answers so please dont waste my time and yours with dumb unhelpfull comments.

What would you say is the cheapest coilover that performs just as well or better then the stock suspension? Im only looking to be able to adjust my ride hight but I dont want to hurt any performance.

Willits...Looking for a coilover that will yield better performance than the OEM shocks, and will slam your car, is not something that is very "personalized" Most coilovers will lower your car more than 2.5 inches...Megan, Tein, JIC, Stance, Etc...

A personalize question about coilovers would be more along the lines of which coilover will generate "X" frequencies or something based on which spring rates work well with which coilover...

So don't expect us to not waste your time when you are just taking up space by making general threads like this...

I can speak from 40k miles of experience that the Tein Basics are cheap and perform better than stock. I use them on the street and the track and i'm very happy with them. However, i do plan to upgrade but that's strictly for performance gains on the track -- i still think the Teins are a decent coilover for the money.

^Your thanking him, but what he forgot to tell you was that the Tein Basics won't lower your car nearly as much as the others. Megan, Stance, and the Tien Flex will go much lower than the Tein Basic...

I actually gave you some good advice, maybe you should read it.

Isn't there a point where lowering the car too much negatively impacts the handing characteristics? I've always understood that it was not ideal to go below ~26.5" from the fender well to the ground because its starts messing with the geometry of the rest of the suspension. The Teins can easily reach this height.

But then again its up to the OP if he cares about handling or ride height.

^You are correct, the lower the car is past a certain point, the more it negatively effects the suspension geometry. But the OP's second question was "Which would lower my car most?" So I was just letting him know that the Tein Basics, are not the number 1 choice for slamming one's car.

I have already said elsewhere why some of those cheap coilovers aren't worth the hassle
I would go with either a set of bilstein or ohlins and that's pretty much it. Stance if I were willing to save some bucks
