ive been lookin around for some threads on coilovers but its not as promising as i thought. everyone is just selling ****. im just lookin for some recomendations that some of you guys have tried. i want something that well let me do good track work but wont break my back on the street. just looking for the best bang for my money here...thanks

Where are you located and what's your budget for coilovers/suspension?

You'd be suprised what Tokico Dspecs and Swift springs can do. Coilovers are definitely not the end all of end all suspensions.

FYI, i'm experienced with so many darn Coilover brands on any of my 15+ vehicles so i'm here to serve you with an unbiased opinion as well as recommendations based on your preferences.

Rishie and Jedi54 both are right...you dont know what you got until you experienced them; but these are the decesions that they experienced, i have the same feeling too; coilovers are good but not worth the price sometime when they are not demanded.

 

i wish i got the Dspec+swift springs instead of the tein...

 

I'm dead serious. If you aren't looking to slam your car and be bouncing around then go for some tokicos and swift springs. It's amazing stuff.

Even my RX8, I would have saved myself from spending $3000.00 on Zeal Coilovers to get some Tokico D/Swifts. They're that great.

Brands like Tokico have amazing warranties on their higher model adjustable dampers. This is something to consider. I always used to just buy 2 sets of Tokicos so i always had one set to swap out on their limited lifetime warranty, without downtime.

Food for thought. Height adjustability is something you might appreciate growing out of on SoCal highways.

if you don't need the height adjustability, definitely tokico d-specs or koni yellows will be good

what kind of swift springs are we talking about cuz i looked and they have a couple different ones theres the sport and theres the spec r. one more question...so you all agree thats its better to spend the same amount on springs+shocks than to buy coilovers...and while we are at who makes a "GREAT" sway bar, front and rear. thanks alot i had just purchased my 8 a few monthes ago and im lookin to do a runover of the suspension so any recomendations and advice is greatly appreciated

 

well i agree with all of them. what you need to think about ,is what would fit u best. iam running on megan coilovers i lov the handling and how it rides bumpy most ppl dont. i would say for your 1st setup u might want to go with the strut and springs. there a good bang for ur buck so to speak.

 

for around $1,000 you won't find a coilover set that will out perform a good strut / spring combo.
I have Koni + Tein S-Techs and they're awesome.

As for the swaybars: will you be tracking the car? Do you want adjustable or set it and forget it sways?

I have a question regarding ride quality my 8 is lowered on eibach springs and factory shocks would this attribute to my bumpy ride would d spec now being paired with a better spring decrease that?

 

Yes that would diminish your ride quality a lot.

Going to D Specs should vastly improve the ride quality.

We're talking about ths Swift Sport Mach Springs. This is their lowering springs. You were looking at their Coilover replacement springs.

Not too many use Megans. those that were sold them.

That may be an indication.

 

I'm surprised on evom they were pretty popular. Anyone have explanations? Too stiff? Not adjusted right? Destroy the handeling? I was thinking of going with these on my 8 because of the luck I had with them on my evo. Thanks for any info.
