I have read that some RX8 owners have the chrome wheels. I want to confirm that they are not polished aluminum as I am waiting for mine with no luck yet. Also comments on how they look and quality of chrome?

Althought I don't have them on my car, I got a good look at them at the dealership.

I can confirm that it's not polished aluminum, which would have been awsome, but it's just chrome plated. I'm not a big fan of chrome wheels, so to me it ruins the rx8's classy look.

 

I have my OE tires mounted on chrome rims in my garage. (Waiting for spring, you know.) Just got them mounted a week ago. They are definitely chromed, not polished. It looks like a dark chrome, in a way. There appears to be a clearcoat of some sort on them. I am hoping to get some pics posted. The style is identical to the stock and polished wheels. Price went up to $800 each, but I had ordered polished ones at $390 each and they substituted these for the same price. Should look nice on my red 8. I'll bet they'd look really sharp on black! Since mine just arrived, yours shouldn't be far behind!

I have factory chrome rims on my Red 8, negotiated as part of the original vehicle sale last Oct. Cost was $1395.00 plus $75 installation.

I have seen the polished aluminum wheels at my dealer. I was told that you can find wheel shop who can polish the wheels for about $200 a piece.
