for what its worth, I just replaced my stock tires with Avon Tech M550 A/S from tirerack.com they were $136 each and I have noticed a much quieter ride and smoother too.

We have horrible roads here and this helps with all the bumps in the crappy roads.. I got all season because I am moving to Germany from TX and I know I will need something with better traction then summer tires there.. plus they had about 17k miles on them anyway.

Good luck finding the tires just right for you.

yokohama avs es100, great tire for the price. Sticky tire in the summer time, great buy if you live in an area with a lot of sun. But not that great in the rain, road noise is an issue too after a good amount of miles. I love em for the price.

falken fk451s are good too, low road noise, okay grip wise, but predictable to say the least. Cheap too.

Just put my first 50 miles on my new ES100's. I do like them so far, especially for the price. Did notice a bit more road noise, but then again, I was listening for it.

Try Cooper?

I was not a big fan of Cooper tires in the past, but when my stock Bridgstones went south, my dealer talked me into giving the new Cooper ZEON A/S (released in Feb/06) a try and, for $160 CDN installed and balanced, they seem to be a heck of a tire and over $100 each less than the Toyo Proxes 4 that I was also considering. See http://www.coopertires.com/Flash/index.aspx

So far, they are quiet, decent in the corners and well mannered in a bit of rain or sloppy roads (unlike the RE040's). I'm no "weekend racer" but these are a good value for the performance and looks.

Please Kumho is far superior to the crappy ES100's. ES100's are by far the worst high performance summer tire on the market.

Try and get some Kumho MX, Falken ST615's or Hankook RS2s.
