Carbotech pads + centric slotted rotors in the front

I replaced my worn down factory front rotors with the the rx7.net centric slotted rotors as well as the carbotech bobcat front pads-- The amount of dust is reduced by ALOT--they are quieter than stock and quieter than the EBC reds I had. As far as stopping power--it feels like they have more bite--but that could just be placebo. They look good together, low dust, and are very quiet yet firm. Highly recommended.

Well--the rotors are the same as stock--the install I actually had a mechanic do for the rotors--the pads are pretty easy to install yourself though. The Carbotech pads were about $120 IIRC then the rotors were like $160 IIRC for both. Mechanic charged $90 to put on the rotors--pads you can do solo. I got the pads after the rotor install (about 2 weeks later). This pic is with the EBC reds on--note the dirt

Please keep us up to date on the e-coating which they use on these rotors. I am looking for a no rust solution and I'm torn between this e-coating or a zinc coated rotor. After reading up on those brake pads, I might have to get them.

the only rotor I've ever seen that didn't rust is a new unused one, including zinc coating

I would think that any coating is just to cover the surface. On a brake rotor, one or two applications of the brake would remove that coating.

The coating is primarily for the hub and edge of the brakes. As alnielsen pointed out, any coating on the rotor surface itself will be eliminated in a few miles.

Actually no. Ford had a coating on the brake surface of the cougar rotors. They made noise, but the rotor never showed signs of rust.
I was really referring to the rotor hub and the rotors fins. The rust that splatters onto the rims seems to come from the rotor fins.
