1. 9K's post was mostly focused on the fact that the post generally contributed nothing to the thread... it was almost a compliment to those that do own a set, but not quite...

2. He didn't really state an opinion at first. It is true that seven stock has ended. It's possible that you simply forgot and he was offering a reminder.

3. Instead of getting all pissy about it, you could have simply explained why you had it still and moved on.

4. Compliment someone's wheels, at least mention more details about what you might want (model name/number) or post pictures of the wheels you got when you decide to post in this thread again. I can't force you.. but those responses can be considered useful and are generally more fun for discussion.

Just got these in yesterday, so here's a teaser shot. More pics shall come tomorrow!

Got a question for Rays fanatics. I noticed lately the branding has changed to "Rays Wheels" instead of "Rays Engineering". Any particular reasoning to that?

Here's some quick iPhone pics I took today of the new rims mounted. We just put suspension on right before this pic was taken too.

Rims are Rays Gram Lights 57DR 18X9.5 +38 with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 245/40/18, and it's lowered on Koni Yellows with Tein S-Techs.

I'll have to get out and take some proper pics soon; the car is so dirty right now it's bugging the crap out of me. Anyways, here's the pics. I'm so proud to finally be a member of this elite thread. Woot!

Why bother? They are staggered and not that light.

yeyo_racing 07-11-2012 03:49 PM

True, but I like the look, they are stong to survive Puerto Rico poth holes and the price is right for me atm. If I can get myself a set of four fronts or four rears I'll be golden and get past the staggered hurdle.

Further down the road I can get a lighter set.

yeyo_racing 07-11-2012 04:12 PM

Thanks man!

Yeah explain to them how a light weight and square wheel setup is the only way to go when driving your car as a street car. Very important to optimize your experience when driving at residential and city speeds. It means everything.

For daily, street driving, it's still good. You can rotate your tires so you get more life out of them. Plenty of people here still run a staggered setup. 9K is just very adamant about running a square setup

Good point with the tire rotations. Something to think about is most of the members will never see a racetrack, choosing the proper street tire with alignment and religiously checking tire pressure will give you long tire life as well. No big need for a debate just think street light warrior statements are a bit silly :dunno:

Who said it was the only way to go? The weight was listed which implied to me that weight was a factor in this choice of wheel, I was just pointing out that those particular wheels are not that light.

And running staggered generally means different size tires front and rear so that can be a pain when rotating and when buying new tires. Of course he could run the same size tire on all four, I did on my staggered Volks. I just prefer a square setup, if you want to run staggered wheels knock yourself out.

BTW, tell Gregs I said wassup ;) I haven't seen him post in a while........
