brake pads - good brand / bad brand

Hey everyone

What do you guys think of Duralast gold semi-metal brake pads that I can get at Autozone? Are they any good? I know they're not as good as OEM brake pads or Hawks......but I don't race or do tracks with my 8.....so I don't want to spend too much money if I don't need to.... well..unless they might ruin my rotors or something then....I probably just go with OEM pads which would cost me about 110 dollars a pair...crazy! any suggestion?

while we are in the brake pad dicussion, i also have a question, i've been reading alot of older threads but , have not found the answer yet...are there two types of brake pads for sport suspension and base models? or do the suspension models only matters when purchasing rotors? i would think that it would matter yet, every when i try to order online, they always say "fits all sub models" when buying pads?

^I have sport suspension pads on my base AT. Its only the rotors you have to look out for. If you dont have sport suspension then yes the rotors will be to tall and will not fit.

About them Autozone pads, I never tryed them. But I had MS pads, dam best pads I every had. Stock sucked and my Hawk HP+ are too dam loud! + tons of brake dust.
After the Hawks are fin I'm going back to MS pads. No squeeeeeeeel what so every

HP Plus shouldn't be used on the street unless you're frequenting track events or autox on the weekends. Overkill of a pad for only street use (it will dust heavily and make noise). Try Hawk Performance Ceramic if you're looking for a good street compound.
