Black wheels

Hi. I am new at this club. I just purchased an RX8 2007 from a friend of mine. Her son bought it new and he has to go overseas to work, got a great job overseas, so I purchased the car. I love it, it is a sport RX8, red color. It has 11000 miles.

My very first thing to do is paint the wheels black. I love black wheels, it gives the car ( any car ) a complete new and sporty look. With black wheels, an RX8 means business.

Anyone done it already? I think my best bet would be to powder coat the wheels.
That is as far as mods for now. Later on, sway bars for even better handling ( hard to imagine better than stock, but there is some room for improvement , love the sway bar feeling )...and a catalic converter/muffler upgrade to allow better breathing.

Now, black wheels. I think the stock wheels are awesome, no need to get aftermarket wheels, but yes, my eyes demand black wheels.

Thanks, happy rotoring, and pray for a new RX7 3 rotor car!!!!!!!!!!!

I would suggest Powder coating them, much more durable finish.

Nice wheels guys. Please take the time to let me know what process of painting did you use, and how much is the cost, to have an idea and be better prepared in dealing with the paint shops.

It all varies what shop is doing your wheels, what type of wheels you have, etc.

Heres my wheels powder coated wet black. Also blacked out all the badging. Do some searching for local powder coat shops. I got mine done 30 seconds from my house, and I never even knew the place existed. Cost around $75-$110 per wheel

What size and offset did you get and tire size. Any rubbing or fender work required?

19x8.5 in the front and 19x10 in the rear. I had the drum powder coated black. I wanted to keep a chrome center.
