Do you ever bottom out or scrape the lip? See I want it to look sick but not so that I can't drive it. I want it to look aggressive so that everyone thinks a male drives it. Haha but it's really a chick.

no but really id go with racing beat sways and springs kit for 520 and leave it at that if ur on a budget.

get a set of koni yellows and you get adjustable shocks and just get a lowering kit H&R kit is nice quality kit. Let alone the cost of doing everything twice. The shocks have to come off when you change the springs so why not improve everything and save money by doing it right the first time. Yes coil overs are a great idea. They are a bit more but if you are not to serious about it just go with a lowering kit and sport springs. So what are you going for are you tracking the car or anything???

This is an exercise in looks. One thing to keep in mind is that people have reported switching to a twintube damper like the Koni SA or Tokico D-Spec has generally resulted in a lowering of a half inch or so. Oh yeah, and when lowering your car please undo the front lower A-arm bolt.

I am going to have to look into the kit thing. Maybe that's the way to go. I really would like coilovers though. There so insane. I am not going to track it. I just like to hook up cars. I am a car girl. JDM all the way. Haha. If the car turns out sick I am thinking about putting it in HIN next year.

I recommend Swift springs...they have the best engineering by far and are the lightest.
Swift makes custom springs for race cars.

According to their datasheet, the drop is -0.8 inches all around, which is more aggressive than Racing Beat but not as aggressive as Espelir GT.

Depends on the size of your wheel and tires. Check out the, "Will it fit thread" for a list of sizes people are running.
FWIW, I'm running 19x8.5 +40 with 255/35 front and back dropped with Tein Flex coilovers. I have very minor wheel liner (not fender) rub with the front.

I bet the stock dampers are getting softer by 50k miles, and would be toast by 100k. I fit into the "toast" category ;-)
Replace the shocks and springs when you're sure of your goals and what you want. Do you want to scrape everywhere? Do you intend to go to competition events? Do you want your RX8 to ride like it did from the factory?
I'm looking at the Bilstein B8 because they work well with lowering springs. And you can get a coilover sleeve kit and run standard springs if you want custom rates.

Actually, a little more research and I've seen good reviews for the tein s-tech paired with kyb gas-a-just. The KYB's are available from rockauto.com for absurdly low price... ;-)
