they're rated for 50 psig from the manufacturer as cast on the sidewall

edit: according to Tirerack they're rated for 44 psig in the 245/30-18 size, depending on the particular size they are rated at 44, 50, and 51 psig pressures

Have been looking at new tires for several months and finally decided to try the General Exclaim UHP in 245/40R18 size. These are rated excellent at Tirerack and are only $111 each. Ride, wear and noise were better than the Kumho's and just one point lower on the handling. They are definitely quieter than the OE Bridgestones and ride way better as well. Plus I like the agressive look and the price was hard to beat. These are based on a Continental design at a lower cost, as General is owned by them. Let me know what you think.

What pressure are you running these at?

Running 35 front and rear. I had them at 33 and uped them after a few days. Turn in is better than OE Bridgestones at 35 psi. So far I like these a lot.

Thanks for the heads-up. I got mine put on yesterday morning and the guy insisted that I run them at 38 to 40psi. I'll try them at 35 and see how they do.

where did you have that done at, that is just a bit too high. don't always trust the grease monkey at the shop, they don't always know what they are talking about. last time I had tires put on, the morons tightened my lugs to at least 110 lb/ft. They were so tight, I broke my socket extension getting them loose.

I think Mazda issued a TSB to tighten to that torque.

One of TireRack's recommended installers put them on. I doubted what they were saying as the words came out of their mouth; that's why I asked here.

I am getting new tires to replace my stock dunlop sport 8090's. They only have 15,000 miles on them. The tread is low, but I just also got a huge punchure from a foreign object. I am getting the Bridgestone Potenza SO-3 Pole Positions.

My question is, how much of a downgrade is this, or is it? I do have an AT, and I never turn of DSC, but I make turns like I'm autoxing. I constantly push the car around curves. I broke loose for the first time the other day. I blame the tread wear. Thank goodness for DSC. I got control back real soon.
