AT base brake upgrade

Has anyone upgraded from the base brakes on the AT?

Ive been searching around and i know that the base AT does not have the MC brace, or 12" brakes on the front. The rears on both the MT and AT are the same.

So my question is can I just buy larger rotors for the front and it will fit OK?

^what he said, the changes would be to extensive. Wheels, calipers, brackets and so forth.

I do have Racing Brake Rotors for the AT's in stock if you wanted to upgrade them.

Yeah Im running 18's at the moment.

As for brakes my pads are running a bit low and I think the rotors need replacing as well.

You would still need to change out the calipers, the larger rotors is too large for the caliper currently on the AT.

AT Stock Size: 303x24mm
MT Stock Size: 322x24mm (Sport)

I checked out the brake upgrade but I don't think I'm interested in a big brake upgrade. The OEM ones are fine, but I wouldn't mind having the sport suspension brakes.

Anyone know where I can get these?

I looked into this a bunch when I was considering actually downgrading to the AT brakes for rally wheel/tire fitment. It's actually even more extensive than has been mentioned. I believe the hydraulics are a bit different because of the different diameters, so you also need a different master cylinder and proportioning valve.

Did you read what RaceRoot posted? Do you understand that you will be swapping out many components? Why do you feel your brakes are inadequate and need an upgrade? Do you track your car?

If you are upgrading just for the sake of knowing you have larger than base model AT brakes, then dont even bother.

This as well I forgot to mention in my previous post but have researched it on other forums. It can be done but purpose has to be there.

Thanks for all the info.

I thought it would just be a simple caliper and rotor upgrade. (Master cylinder and goodies optional)

My brakes are just fine. I would like to eventually track my car when I complete my suspension so upgrading my brakes would be a plus.
