Any Issue with Tien S-Tech on Shinka Stock Struts?
Hey All,
So I am throwing my new wheels on this weekend and figured I'd also install my S-Techs that have been sitting around for a while waiting for me to get them on.
Been researching coil-overs, adjustable struts, yadda yadda yadda, but don't wanna make the investment now. The springs cost me $130 new and I'm psyched about the drop to my Shink.
I assume the stock struts can handle the lowering spring with no issue? Been a while since I did this to a car (1998 Eclipse Spyder was the last so bear with me)

Definitely not a track guy. More of a street cruiser/racer.
Thanks for the definitive and confident answer. I had heard the struts were a good aftermarket name brand but forgot which one! Tokico it is!

1935 lbs. FTW!
They should be fine for a while, I guess 10K miles but eventually the harsher spring rates and lower ride will blow the shocks out.
Redcivic, there are not even struts on this car. All 4 corners are shocks.

Got Another Rotary
Once installed, let us know how you like the S-Techs. I am thinking of adding these exact same springs for the drop and handling. I was also wondering how they feel with the larger Shinka shocks.

Most of the Shinka package is cosmetic, but it does have larger/stiffer shocks and some chassis stiffness enhancements (urethane foam injected cross members if I recall correctly) to aid handling.

I believe the shinka shocks are 14mm (up from 12mm) and so they would be a "softer" shock, right? Maybe someone with more suspension knowledge, can elaborate on how that works.

From what I've seen, H Techs are ok with oem dampers and S techs are a bit too stiff. Curious to see feedback of them on the Shinka dampers, as personally, I think that is more of a gimmick than anything else.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but did any of you guys (or anyone for that matter) put Tein S or Tein H Springs on their upgraded 14mm OEM Shinka shocks?
How did it work out?
I am ready to lower my 2006 Shinka and am going back and forth between the Tein S or Tein H. But I always wondered if the upgraded Shinka shocks were "upgraded" enough as to handle the stiffer springs and/or keep the daily drive comfortable.

shinka213,
Are you still on the OEM Shocks? For how long now (I'm curious how long they'll hold up under the stress)?
And how is your ride on the daily commute?
