Any good techniques on removing rust?

I don't really want to bother with my local dealer --- so I figured I could do this over the weekend. Any good techniques on how to remove rust from the rotor hub?

Should I use a steel brush or sand paper? If so any specific kind? How about a sealant? Should I use one once the rust is removed? Any specific kind?

Thanks in advance for your help !

naval jelly, or just drive it to your local deal, rusted hubs should be covered under warranty.

I used a powered wire brush head. Took about 20 minutes each wheel(was very thorough). Then just painted the brake calipers/hubs. I tried using naval jelly, didn't work. Dealer or use machine and DIY.
