Another TPMS Problem

I've noticed lately my TPMS lite will come on and stay on for a while but as im driving it will go off. I've checked the tire pressure and its good. Also it normally only happens when its cold out. Can anyone help me out on this one?

did you check the tire pressure before you started driving? is it blinking or staying solid?

The O/P never got back and said if they solved their problem......

So, a couple of shots in the dark....

When the weather is cold, and the tires are cold, I have noticed a 4psi difference from warm (driven) tire temps on my aftermarket TPMS that shows individual pressures. This has been enough to give me a warning (I have my low alarms set at 28psi) on a really cold morning.

So, you should be filling/checking your tires when stone-cold. Fill them to 33psi with a good gauge, and see if your problem goes away.

On the other hand, I think the batteries in the TPMS sensors are quoted as having a 7 year lifespan. I would not be surprised to see TPMS problems discussed soon that are the result of bad sensor batteries.

I believe that a Dealer can plug your car into their diagnostic computer and isolate a particular sensor malfunction.

Mine has done it before. I surmise the pressure is low due to the low temperature and then the pressure gets above 27psi or so, causing the light to go off, due to the tire heating up.

cause when itz cold, your tire pressure will be lower too.
as when you start driving it, the tires heat up, then the tire pressure to back to normal!

thanks for your help on this guys, but after checking the pressure cold, and then later hot, both were fine. I took the car in to the delarer for a few warranty things to be done and it was a bad tpms sensor, they replaced it and all is good now. Again thanks for all the info!
