Aftermarket lugs on OEM wheels
Ive searched and read through posts all morning. I will just delete this thread if it ends up being a duplicate.
I bought aftermarket wheels. Couldnt get one to mount properly because of broken hub centric rings. I bought black lug nuts, but putting them on and off very carefully with a brand new craftsman socket seems to have stripped all the black off... (If anyone can recommend a GOOD black lugnut set w/o locks, id appreciate it)... So being that my new black lugs were essentially chrome now, I put my OEMS back on and put in the aftermarket lug nuts. Im only riding on the OEMS for a few more days, but noticing some vibration in the steering wheel that Im pretty sure I dont remember. Is this because theres an angle at the seat of the aftermarket lug nuts as opposed to the OEM lugs?
1) Im going to switch to OEMs for track days, and wondering if its a problem to use the aftermarket lug nuts on OEM wheels so I dont have to bother with switching all the time?
2) Also would like to get a set of lugnuts that wont strip right away. less than 50 would be ideal... ive seen black anodized and black chrome and black painted... which do i want?
3) Also, the OEMs i use for track are black powdercoated, so is there such thing as getting black lugnuts that are OEM type if question 1 is that I cant use aftermarket on OEMs.
