Nice, where did you get sprint springs?

 

Brand new off of a member on here who posted something about having the set and not putting them on yet. Great guy...can't remember his name.
They ride really good though for how low they are.

I examined my koni struts. Approximately 3" of compression there is zero pressure/resistance. That's whats been causing my harsh and noisy ride! Probably why my car sat so slammed too...the advertised drop is only 1.2" and it was more like 2.25" hahah


Oh and Konis do have a lifetime warranty...but according to koni usa they're back ordered...WTF!

 

WTF. springs and spacers are on. The rear is HIGHER than stock?

I don't know what the **** i did. Maybe i need them to settle or something?

The front is sitting nice, i did them this morning and went for a drive. they sat perfectly. The rear though, they are HIGH! i checked before putting the springs on and they WERE an inch lower than stock, but why would the car itself sit so high?


PLEASE HELP!

On our multi-link rear suspension there is arms you need to loosen while installing lowering springs, then tighten on the ground when the suspension has load on it.

You also should do this on the front by loosing the upper A-arm.

thanks viprez, but i did do that with the front as well as the rear prior to 9k telling me. i was just asking for clarification.
and i don't expect to be spoon fed, i just knew this thread had users with the same springs.
i appreciate your contributions though.

quick question. Having spacers right now has made me have like 2 of everything. I need 2 freaking sockets now cause i need a deep one for the lug nuts for the spacers.

Im wondering what you guys use to loosen and tighten the lug nuts on your spacers. I have a torque wrench but i doubt it will be usable cause it wont fit under the fender. Do you guys use an extremely long socket ??

 

Patience, a pry bar (or helper jamming on the brakes). A good torque wrench that has a slightly flexible head on it. I have a snap-on torque wrench.

The longer extension/socket you use the less accurate the torque reading will be.

 

I used a normal 21mm (if i remember correctly) from a standard ratchet set and it fit (chrome standard depth socket) you just have to move the wrench around until you find an area where it will fit on and you can tighten.

 

stupid questions maybe:

1. Do you guys use any anti-seize or anything on the stock bolts to make sure that they dont seize up over time?

2. How do you guys manage to torque down the front while preventing the hub from spinning?

2. you have to use one hand and a pry bar. Wedge it between 2 studs and put pressure down while you torque with the other hand.

 

Um have someone press the brake while you torque them noob.

 

 

I have a dowel I cut to size. Fits between the bump under the seat and the brake pedal fully pressed in.

Has anyone ever weighed a single 25 or 20mm spacer yet? Even if not what do u guys think a ballpark estimate is? (1,2,3,4,5 Pounds?)

 

Depends on which brand, but a typical 25mm aluminum spacer I would say maybe a pound if that.

 

Cool thanks. So it seems like the strut/shock brand kyb paired with s tech springs is a good option for rubbing issues if I get the 25 mm spacers? Only asking bc I will eventually upgrade to better struts after a few thousand miles (and more cash) after I put my teins on and now spacers. I know a previous post said stock struts with s techs will be fine for the 25mm spacers and no rubbing issues but I am just looking for better strut options down the road to make sure there is no rubbing if my car is lowered any further.

 

Stock shocks in good condition should be fine. But I have no complaints about the KYB's.

 

Spacers push the tire away from your springs and dampeners. no need to worry about them when using spacers unless you are trying to fit some crazy rim.

Def putting spacers on my OEM wheels, currently dropped 1.2-inch on Eibach springs, with 225/45/18's on. 25mm all around should be fine right?
