25 vs 30 vs 35mm spacers

Ive been looking at spacers for a long time now and kept pushing it back on the list of mods.

Rotorfest is coming up and i have some spare change so i thought, i might as well bite the bullet.

Im looking to purchase spacers in the next few days. I tried to compile alot of info here incase somebody searches this later on.

IF YOU WANT ME TO TAKE MORE DETAILED CLEARANCE PICTURES LET ME KNOW.

Im currently on:
stock wheels
225 40 18's
2inch drop Springs not Coilovers.

Not interested in getting wheels that fit correctly at this time, though 18x9.5+30 (or +22) will be the ones ill be getting, not that that matters.

This is a picture of the front

The rear i forgot to take a picture of, but it seems to be a little less clearance.

Ive been looking alot at 25mm spacers, but every time i see pictures it leaves me wanting more. If im going to spend the money, then i dont want to have something that im not happy with.

The exception to this is the 25mm spacers 9k put on his stockers, very flush. Though it probably has to do with his 245 40 18s.

Also the fact that 90% of the threads i find are people with 25mm spacers, i did happen to find someone with 30mm spacers and he regretted them and wanted 32-35mm spacers.

This is 30mm spacer fitment. found in this thread
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multime...pacers-220849/

This is more along the lines of what i want, except he is at stock height and since im 2inches lower, im cambered out more.

Also, finding pictures of someone with a 2inch drop and spacers is even more difficult.

I found these, which claim a 2inch drop(doesnt look like it to me on the front) and he had 25mm on the back and 20mm in the front.

As you can probably tell, im looking for more. The wheels still look sunken in and are not flush. Lets assume this is a 2inch drop like mine, how much further can i go?

Ive come up to the conclusion that I will need to roll at anything past a 25mm spacer, is it worth going to a 30mm spacer with a DIY roll in my garage? Or even a 35mm spacer? Will i destroy my fender when going over a pothole with a 35? with a 30? If thats the case then ill just stick with the 25mm.

thanks.

It's not worth it to go past 25mm. Proper camber your set-up and 25mm will look clean. Anything more than -1.00 should be corrected.

^ i think i may have made a typo, seems as though my shitty tires are sold in 225 45 18s, i could have sworn.. I think im going to go with the 25mm's, i was talking to a friend and he brought up a good point. Its stretching it to make it to 30mm, and if i were to get some vertical suspension travel going over a large bump, my fender would become obliterated.

thanks for the help guys.

for lulz this is basically a 45mm spacer dropped on s techs

my friend tried on my wheels and we thought it'd be possible to leave his spacers on, in short, no it is not possible.
