If you have wheel locks, be sure to loosen them first and tighten them last to minimize damaging them.

I guess coming up with a good hiding place for the lock would slow the thief down - we've just gotta make sure we don't forget the hiding place .
Okay, I'll let someone else respond with the "well if a professional thief really want your wheels, you cannot stop them" line! I don't believe in making it any easier for them.

I wouldn't take too much to squirrel it away in a secret location. That doesn't guarantee that noone will find it, but it would increase the odds.
