Congrats on resisting the trendily-correct clear corner madness! I think the orange side markers provide some very nice color contrast and make your car distinctive compared to the now-common obligatory clear corners that seemingly all 'enthusiasts' just 'have to' have.

hah, believe me you'd be suprised how much kids get money nowadays and how fast it changes hands. and believe me, i know what quality is, i choose to have good subtle taste in cars. i come from eurotuning not import tuning, i know plenty about quality and spending money on quality body parts and wheels. i choose to be different i know more about the rx-8 than you think and want to shed the sterotypical rx-8 look. and i know what looks good in fact i love the MS kit as well as basically any wheel that comes out of RAYS wheel company but seriously man i don't want to be another clone looking like every person who thinks they have a show quality car because they bought a greddy turbo kit, a mazdaspeed body kit and some volk racing wheels. I put a lot of time into deciding what wheels i wanted and sizing for the rx-8 based on the body kit and the lines of the car, i didn't go to tire rack and get a 2000 dollar special and just stick them on the car.

Ummm..... explain to me how the STOCK orange sidemarkers make the car distinctive compared to other RX-8s. As many tuners as there are out there, the majority of RX-8s on the road are not owned by tuners.

The majority of the "tuner" cars you see which do not look stock, have clear corners. His car clearly (no pun intended) does not look like a stock 8. How many people who put aftermarket body kits on, also put on clear corners? How many times on this forum for example, do you see one of the first mods someone does is clear corners?

Among "tuner" cars, what percentage have clear corners versus stock orange ones? I'll bet the vast majority of tuner cars have clear corners, thus his is distinctive as a tuner car for having the stock orange corners.

The whole clear or orange markers thing is just a matter of preference... if you like it or you don't. Keith didn't like how the JDM clears stuck out funny. I'm sure he would have been ok with them if the shape was the same as the US OEMs.

well then you keep your zigens while i get my volks...not dogin on 5zigen the company but...I will guaranty that 10 times out of 10 volks "will" look better. And who the heck said anything about having a "show quality car?" There are probably only 2-3 8's on on the so cali side of this forum that actually compete/ display in car shows. That would just leave the other 100's of 8s out.

well im not argueing with you that 5zigen is JUST AS good as volks in fact the majority of their product line costs about half of what volk's does, mostly because of quality and partly because of brand name. im saying that 5zigen DOES offer some highline wheels and do have some great designs(whether it looks better or worse is very subjective because you cannot give a solid yes or no as to what looks better or not)

And by "show quality car" i mean an elitist aesthetic and quality choice mentality a lot of people seem to have, when in reality tons of other rx8s have the exact same thing.

and to inform you, the rx-8 is not "my dads car" he has other cars that he tends to and modifies, the rx-8 is primarily my car, im calling the shots on the mods and im going to be daily driving it in a year or so when the car is complete. No, i obviously did NOT pay for the majority of the car, sue me, my dad has a half decent living and enjoys buying and modifying cars and sharing a hobby with his son. Yes, i do pay for the modifications, and the project is moving rather slowly because of my intrest in RX-7's.

StealthFox, trust me, I've had my chances... twice in this thread, and about 3 more in another that I could have been less than mature towards you. But higher powers have told me to be a bit nicer to the youngin's and/or less intelligent on this forum.

They were included in the total cost (2900 for everything)...I think the subtotal for the center caps were around 100.

Don't know what time I am going down there....I will probably know by late next week. I may even go with some of the guys from the San Bernardino Thread...don't know yet. It kinda all depends on the timing of the other work we are doing on my girlfriend's 8.
