ok,...so....what you are saying is that you did not have a reason. It just popped into your head and you posted it. Can't fault you there. I have a problem with saying what I am thinking with out running it through filters first. Or at least I have been told. But if you do that on here a lot, you will need some thick skin.

 

Trust me, I've been looking at and finding information on this site since before I bought my RX-8. I've always looked stuff up before asking stuff, i just happened to want to see if anyone had done this, just to see a picture really, but I would never sacrifice performance for looks if you can really tell the difference. Anyway, I just felt like asking and I know a lot of people on here that are new to cars in general that ask some pretty rediculous (rediculous to the educated) questions, but really if this is a site to help people with their RX-8 you should pass your knowledge on without a bunch of demeaning comments, who the hell wants to deal with or hear that crap. I'm a smartass too, but some people hold themselves too high and underestimate others too much.
But whatever, think I'm a "NOOB" that's fine. Even Carol Shelby has ideas that sound stupid at first, but that's when make your idea work, if you want too bad enough. So I don't care, but some people or NOOBS as some would call them might have ideas of their own and who's F'n place is it for someone to make fun of them.

I went back and looked at my original comment for this thread, maybe I should have said that if I could see it and it looked good and I could get everything to perform right than i would do this.

 

You know what... I don't knock you at all. Everyone has their reasons for doing whatever. Whether if it's performance.. looks.. whatever. Just do what you want. It's your car, and you're right, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone.

But i'm not pissed, nor was I then, just havin' a bad day with some other personal **** and let people get to me. actually when i went back and looked at what I wrote at first to start this thread it did sound like I was gonna do this without real research, but oh well, tink what you want. the thread totally went off subject anyway, but keep enjoying the avatar!

 

cars like the corvette are made to be like that, the rx8 is not.

If he would enjoy the look of having bigger wheels on the back, why would people stop him? Last I checked he spent the money on his car, and will pay for the staggered wheels. As far as performance goes, if the car already understeers with equally sized front and rear tires, it'll only get worse by leaps and bounds if you have larger rear tires. If your going for the show scene, I don't see why you wouldn't, maybe someone can photoshop it for you?

i was planning on doing this too but i knew it was gonna hurt my performance so i am juss planning on going same size wheels. yea, it might look good WHEN you have a bodykit and drop the car a bit to emphasize the look of your car. without it, i think it'll be ugly. juss my 2cents
