It depends on if you are going for performance or bling. For performance, 18's or even 17's are lighter (and cheaper). For looks, they say the 19's look like they fill up the wheel wells better.

We already have 18's. I don't understand people who "upgrade" to other aftermarket 18's. IF you're doing it for looks (which is why most people upgrade) then I say go for 19's

19's add extra stress on the drivetrain. Some want to improve looks / save weight without compromising the safety of their transmission =)

Ya. If you're gonna swap, go for 19's. Although the 18's stock look prety sweet for factory...

19's won't add too much stress - I had 19's on my Protege5 on stock shocks and Ground Control coilover springs. If you go 19 it's always for looks on this car so go strictly style and don't compromise looks for weight. For me I think I'll stick to 18s because on NYC's potholes!

19" rims with 245/35/19 tires are the same diameter as the stock tires on 225/45/18. So there isn't any added stress and your odo will read properly.

I have 19" on my car right now. if I had to to it over again I would have gone with 18". The ride is on the harsh side with 19." And a reason you can go to 18" aftermarket is you can change width of the rims. Go to an 8.5" or 8.5"/9.5" staggered setup.
