17x7.5, +34 offset - Rubs or works?

I really want to autocross tomorrow (sunday) in packwood, but I'd be on the stock POS 040s because my autocross wheels/tires don't get in until monday.

I have some 17x7.5 +34 offset wheels with 235/40/17 Toyo RA-1s from my alltrac buried in my garage, but I'm curious if there's any hope of them fitting with such a low offset. Anyone have any idea?

Umm.. I think smaller off set means your closer to the fender.

17.5x45mm offset works.

Smaller offset means that it brings the wheel further inboard (towards the center of the car), so it's closer to the caliper/etc. I guess I'll prolly have to dig em out and check it out. =)

Yeah those will stick out about 5/8" more than stock. However they are only 7.5" wide so I think you will be okay. The bad part is that small wheel with those weak @ss tires will kind make the car suck.

i'm with ulllose. definitely downgrading when you go from 8 to 7.5. not loosing balance, but loosing grip and looks tiny.

Oh, yeah, duh, I had my head backwards. I can never remember wheel dimension crap...

The point is, RA-1s are way better than 040s. So, I just wanted something with more grip for the autox.

It ends up that I'm gonna put a new motor into my alltrac tomorrow anyway instead of going to the autocross, so the point ends up being moot. The V710s came in friday, and the wheels for em come in tomorrow. Woot! NEXT autocross will be great!...
