I have had my RX-8 for almost 2 years. I have an 04 manual with 68k on it. I have just started to have starting problems with it. I drove it for about 30 miles and it sat for a few hours the other day. I rode down to the store and turned off (warm), when I came out of the store my car wouldn't start. It wouldn't even crank it just clicks once. It wouldn't jump start with cables so we got it started by push start. It drove fine no issues when running. When I got home I turned it off and it did the same thing. I cleaned the terminals and waited a day and it started fine. I went to Advance Auto and they checked the battery and it read it was ok, but they replaced it after the car wouldn't start there. It did the same thing after the new battery was in and won't turn over at all. We push started it and when I got home it wouldn't turn over again. I tried 2 more times and got it to start but took a few cranks. I'm not sure what it could be but i was told to get the starter looked at. I can use all the help I can get on this. I plan on taking it to the Mazda dealer but want to run by them any suggestions from here.

 

check ignition coils?

 

Get a compression test if it fails to start from warm
