I have been to three different dealerships. They all have to contact Mazda Tech. Well they pull up my car and see where my A/C has been worked on four different times. And they tell the dealer to tell me my A/C is working correctly and do nothing to try to fix it. They see me as a problem. I can not talk to anyone but the dealer or the customer hotline who knows nothing about A/C's..It is 100 degrees today and the A/C S--Cks... If you think Mazdatech is there to help you think again. The Canadian control has actual numbers on the temp control. Maybe designed a little different. All of this over a $360 contoller and maybe a temp sensor. Mazda customer service -----..........

45 degrees is what it should run on coldest setting (42 but 45 is close owing to the calibration of the instrument measuring). have you read the other thread and tried the programming?
US cars do not have climate control. are you not in the US? you said your car is USA build. we donthave auto climate control.

Just an fyi, the air mix actuator in my RX-8 is all screwed up. (I havn't gone back to the dealer yet.. waiting for the recall). Basically I get about the same thing.. works fine on all the way cold, anything else i get hot.
If (when the car is running and A/C enabled) get out and look at the center console by the gas pedal. You will see a couple of white actuators. Turn the temp control, one should move gradually with the temp control (mine does not). If you push the control to change vents the other one should move.
On my car if I go all the way cold is moves the full way. If I start moving up slowly, it MIGHT move slowly, but often goes to all the way on the other side (hot).
I already brought it to the dealer once, and they said it was normal.. (what they did was turn it to all cold and said it worked based on the 45 degree or whatever setting.) What they did not do was listen to me saying it didn't work right EXCEPT for the extremes.. :P Anyway, take a look at that, if it's not right you can save some trouble and diagnose the condition for them...

That is not normal
Thanks for telling me about the mixing acuator. Mazda should not have to recall a part when a customer brings their car in for a problem! The thing that bothers me the most is Mazda Tech (your final connection for service lies about a problem they know exist. They make thousands of fine cars with A/C that work correctly. Why can't they correct this problem. My VIN number has a rap sheet so long ,,,,, they want help me and probably do not care if I ever buy another Mazda.

To start, I AGREE that the system is not ideal
I knew when I bought it that it didn't have auto climate control (and Canada cars are no different than yours in this sense)
If you are too cold when the thing is set to recirc, fan 3, and full cold why don't you lower the fan to speed 1 and turn off recirc. I mean, honestly, it doesn't have to be a HUGE deal. I almost sounds like it is really bothering you to the point that you don't enjoy your car.
Or, why don't you change it to feet and face, or to windshield and feet?
There are a lot of ways to change the amount of cool 'feeling' other than turning the **** one notch towards the 'hot' side
Just some ideas, thats all...
