Whirring sound

Whirring sound
I searched and couldn't find quite what I am asking about.
First, I have a 2004 RX Manual with 78,000. It has the annoying high pitched whine which no one seems to be able to identify.
However, about 2 weeks ago, a new sound developed. It is a whooshing/whirring sound like a scavenger pump. it only occurs when the car is cold, first thing in the morning.
So, I start the car and let it idle until the temp gauge begins to move like always. This is done with the clutch released and the transmission in neutral. There is a little transmission noise, but nothing unusual. I then press the clutch and put the transmission into 1st with a thunk. Nothing unusual yet. I then let the clutch out and proceed forward. This is when the whooshing/whirring begins. It is in direct correlation to RPM speed. For about 10 minutes the noise continues. After 10 minutes, it just fades away and isn't heard the rest of the day.
I do have a steep driveway, and wondered if parking on the incline has caused the fluid to reside somewhere it shouldn't.
Any ideas? With the shifting seeming a little more notchy lately, I am fearing transmission issues. There is no slipping, or performance issues. It ssems to be somewhat temperature related as I only hear it when the care is quite cold.
Thank you,

The high pitched sound seems to be coming from under the UIM. I have tried pulling the plug on the air pump and it didn't make a difference.
Checking on throwout bearing... ugggh

no my sound is just a high pitched sound on cold starts, for few seconds while the car is idling. it's like a sound generated by something spinning in the bonnet but fades away after few seconds as the car starts to idle normal.
