Whine noise wont turn over need help ASAP PLEASE

Hey guys fortunately i am going to school which means unfortunately i have to sell my 04 rx8 the car has 55,xxx miles on it, I have had it sitting at the dealership waiting to be sold for a little over 2 weeks. I have never had any problems with the car and i got a call earlier today saying it will not start. they said that it makes a whine noise and will not turn over. I did some research of the same problems and i found that it might be the solenoid in the started and maybe possibly flooded? unfortunately i am not home to take a video or anything but i need help ASAP!

if you can help i would greatly appreciate it

thank you very much

Justin

Probably flooded. Search the DIY's for the unflood procedure.

Do you know if your car has the updated starter?

N3H1 = Original (04' & '05 models)
N3H1 A = Upgraded
N3Z1 = Updated (standard with '06 and newer models)

Thank you i will get that checked out

if it is the upgrade or the updated starter would you assume it is flooded? I will spend the money for a solenoid not a big deal just trying to figure it out from 250 miles away from where my car is being sold at

appreciate the help as well

I would call the service dept. at a Mazda dealer, not the one your car is at. If it's at a Mazda dealer. And give them your VIN# and have them check to see if the starter has been upgraded. This will be good information to have on your side when you go see your car.
