OK IM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY 04 RX8, EVERY MORNING WHEN I COLD START THE ENGINE IT SOUNDS LIKE ITS WARMING UP FOR LIKE 5 SECONDS AND THERE IS THIS ENGINE SOUND LIKE A JET PLANE THAT COMES FROM THIS CAN/FILTER THAT IS IN LEFT SIDE RIGHT BELOW THE STRUCT BAR IT HAS PLUGS THAT HAS THE MITSUBISHI SIGN AND MERCEDEZ SIGN ON IT THEN THE RPMS DROP FROM LIKE 3000 TO 1000 AND THE CAR HASNT WARMED UP YET AND THEN THE ENGINE SOUNDS REALLY QUIET. I KNOW THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG PLZ HELP

 

Pretty sure that's your secondary air pump dying.

It's not gonna blow up on you right away, but it can get serious. Zoom, which what? Can/filter? Maybe that link wasn't showing up right for me. Anyway, don't take my word as gospel, but it sounds like the problem I'm having. There are some threads on it around here, too.

Running the TurboXS midpipe. I don't really want to let go just in case everything has to go back to OEM. I'm sure someone would let theirs go

 

I love the sound of the TurboXS. I'm just hoping I pass inspection tomorrow. And the dealership said they wouldn't cover my cat without a good air pump. Said the cat would burn up without it.
