Recently it got cold here and all of a sudden my check engine light flashed and then stayed on.Ever since I have started it up twice to see if it went away like it might be a glitch or sumthing and its still there.When I first start it now if I dont rev the engine the car dies but then once I restart its fine.I really need some help here as the only place that can fix my car is 4 hours away from where I live so I would appreciate any help.Thanks alot everybody.

 

You need to find out the error code or codes associated with the CEL. If you have an auto parts store near you, see if they have a OBD-II CAN bus-compatible scanner that they can use to pull the code. Without knowing the error code any advice you get from forum members would be speculation.

You can purchase a compatible scanner for $150 usd and up and read the code yourself. Just make sure any scanner you buy is CAN-bus compatible. Try Harrison.com or Hymee.com for scanners.

 

ok now im really having problems I went to start my car today to take it to auto zone to get the codes read and now it wont even start up.I have no idea whats up.Could it have flooded?Since i cant get the codes now any ideas as to the problem would be appreciated.
