Just my opinion, but I don't buy "parts" from Autozone advance or Hi/Lo unless I am selling the car or helping someone else with their car and they bought the parts from these people. Their parts are crap. Yes they come with a lifetime warranty in many cases, but who wants to keep replacing water pumps, starters, alternators etc etc. Go buy a good part from a reputable supplier and be done with it. I would not put anything from Autozone on my 8!

Well, the parts stores are suppliers of parts. They aren't their own brand for the majority of replacement parts out there. The companies that manufacture the replacement parts do have brand names, and it's THOSE you should pay attention to. Some are clearly better quality than others.

A large part of those stores source their parts directly from the same company that supplies the parts to the dealer supply chain too. It is quite easy to locate parts from those parts stores with the exact same original manufacturer part number that you would get if you bought the part from the dealer.
