You connect something wrong.

make sure the AMP wire is connected.

I have never installed in the RX8, and I am guessing here... But perhaps your aftermarket HU is weaker than the stock HU...

Hard to tell. You have the Bose stereo? What is the aftermarket stereo? If you have/had the Bose stereo, did you interface with the amp properly?

Did you maybe have your bass and treble setting turned up before you changed the radio?

I Disconnected the power and ground from battery to ensure all settings would be erased. Im gonna leave the battery disconnected overnight and see if it makes a difference tonight.

Thanks for replies if anymore information is known please tell.

Also a question. Does the non bose system still have a "amp" that the 6 factory speakers run through that i could possibly check. After work today im going to wire up a small component amp to the front speakers and see how they sound and then if its good ill add the back ones in.

Thank you

Ok its a 2004 Rx8. Stereo is non Bose. If im correct the amp should be behind the passenger seat? and there is non and i should have a center speaker and i dont. I just reinstalled a 04 Headunit that i purchased (non bose) and when i turn it on it works. The display works everything works EXCEPT when u turn up the volume from 0 it doesnt come on till around 6 and at 6 it sounds equivalent to 1 or 2. I checked all the connections on the back of the headunit and their all tight. I cannot figure out why its doing this or what the cause is. I have another faceplate tho from the old Radio.

The previous radio board fried when my line level inputs to the amp came loose and grounded on the trunk.
