Hello guys,

I am new to the RX8 I have a 06' shinka with 518 miles on the odometer. I noticed for the past two days when I start the motor after sitting for 5-6 hours I get a vibration for about 1 second or less. It is defiantly short but it is there. Its like the engine isn’t well lubricated at cold start. (oil level is normal) Is this normal? Should I take it in to the dealer?

Go to the dealer and have them look at it... to my knowledge it is probably the motor mount at least thats what my vibration was due to....good luck

 

The dealer should have installed fresh spark plugs as part of their delivery preparation procedure. If they didn't do that, one or more of the plugs may be a bit fouled from pre-delivery start-stop cycles. Ask them if they did that and if not, they should do it now.

 

I get that vibration at cold startup too.. it goes away when the car warms up though. I just attributed it to the engine not being warmed up
