I have this weird sound as if i have a flat tire. Nothing is rubbing too, it seems to have gotten worse. I thought it was a tire at first because the faster i went as did the thudding. But my tpms isnt lit and i have checked all tires and nothing.

Anyone have any ideas what this could be?

 

Perhaps your Rim/Tire needs to be balanced?

Whatever the reason, be careful with it. I was driving back from a girlfriend's house when my car made this noise. Nothing happened at first so I kept on rolling. a mile from my house my tire explodes! O.O

P.S.: My TPMS didn't come on either...

 

this happened when a tire shop didnt tourqe my lug nuts right and the wheel was wobbleing

I had a set of Eagle GT AS mounted a month ago. I don't beat on my tires and after two weeks I started hearing a light thudding. Could feel it on the accelerator pedal just a bit as well.

What was weird is that it was inconsistent. Depended on car positioning (pitch, lean) and coul really be felt on left turns at moderate speed.

Long story short I took the car back in (this shop had a 30 day test ride replacement policy) and had them swapped with another tire. Guy at the shop said it wasn't the first time he's seen this particularly with Goodyear Eagle GTs.

 

hmmm, i have hankooks, took it to the shop and its not the wheel balancing.

I think im going to take it back to discount tire where i got them from. I have the same issue, when i turn a little to the right it vanishes.

 

My dad's truck had this problem, a bubble formed in the middle of the tread on one of the tires due to over-inflation and the problems were exactly as you described and they just kept getting worse and worse.

 

so turns out its bad wheel bearings.

Dealer said $670 to replace front two
