Throttle Loss Cel Came On
,I was doing about 90mph in 4th when the cel came on with a small SPUT noise from exhaust sounded more like a miss fire in the plug and the throttle came to 3000 and When ever i tried pressing, the response started to shut me off. I pulled over, called a friend who has an RX8 , he came over and disconnected my battery for 3 mins and re connected it, and the throttle problem was gone along with the CEL light and car runs just fine. I am just confused what should i do now. I drove about 2 hours after that with high rpm and at very very high speeds and no problem seems to be found. Any ideas guys what might have happened? I think I did sort of went to 9500rom while shifting from 3rd to 4th....

Knock. When the AF mixture in not ignited smoothly. Usually the pressure and temperature in the combustion chamber spontaneously ignites unburned portions of the AF mixture before the flame front progresses to that area. It causes a reverberant shockwave in the combustion chamber which makes a pinging, or knocking sound. The 8 has a knock sensor and will retard engine performance to prevent it.

that wont be a problem, cause i will take it to a workshop which services mazdas but ita not an official one because we dont even have a mazda delearship in Bangladesh. They do have all the computers and scanalyzer etc. But I have to pay for everything which sucks even though i bought mine new (JDM version).

my question is If knock happens again say for bad gas quality how long will be the car in retard mode if not reset by ecu? do you guys know the procedure?

engine retard? Is that the LIMP mode these cars can go into. I think the only way to get out of it is to disconnect the battery and clear the memory or do that pushing the break pettle and holding your lips right thingy.

ohhh man....but then again i was not getting no throttle response at all in a very shady part of the highway...getting started and leaving was the prime objective at that moment.....

its supposed to be 91 but who knows, its Bangladesh...to my idea there is probably **** in the fuel.....!!!i I add octane boosters. Car ran fine until two weeks ago . Got the car in Sep 2003 brand new. has now 18749 miles. Just did a road trip for over 600 miles. CEL didn come on but i never reved that much , my 1 1/2 year old angel was in the car along with my real life speed limiter = wife. I am just so scared of pushing the car to its limits now....everytime i rev now i feel the CEL is gonna come on and I will be retard mode. Well there is only one way to find out....

nope not flashing cel. tested few times, if you stall twice the car will go to limp mode. if you reset its fine. first time limp mode because of missfire, found a pebble inside exhaust system.

The old "double stall/pebble in the tail pipe" code.
IIRC the PCM will set a P0WTF.
You really need to give us more to work with. Even if you can't get to a Mazda dealer you can get the code pulled at any Ford dealer with a WDS.

P2106 thats what the computer says ..a friend of mine has the scanalyzer and found this, i was not at home he came and did it while i was away and left a note saying that was the Code, and now i cant get him on the phone god knows where he is, can anyone say what this is, this CEL happens only when vehicle stalled twice. Anyone?? help. I dont know why my friend didn explain what it was.

Maybe because "Throttle actuator control system-forced limited power" wouldn't have meant anything to you? See the information below from the service manual. Read left to right.

unfortunately when cel came after missfire the ecu was reset and no log found on that error. that was also the first time ever my car showed the cel in 2+years and 18000miles/29000km
