so the othernight at the carwash i noticed my taglight was out, i thought oh well and went and got another bulb. nothing... i don;t have my owners manual so i don;t know what fuse to check. i took a guess that it was the tail light fuse and i checked it. no problems there but then again the tail lights were on so that kinda cancelled that. any thoughts i'm not trying to get a repair order cuz i don't have a front tag on and i'm not trying to get a 60 buck fine. so the less attention the better

 

Your guess was right: tag light is on the same fuse as the tail lights. (At least it is on the '06, and I can't imagine it being different on anything else.) Since the bulb didn't fix it, you've got some troubleshooting ahead of you.

Hopefully it's just a dirty socket or connector.
