Unhappy Sudden drop in RPM....?

(Im new to this). 04 gt 6speed 66,000 kms (about 40,000 miles)

As I drive, around 4000 rpm, if I give it gas sometimes all of sudden the rpm will drop down momentarily, or they will increase - (as if the clutch is in) then drops down and the power resumes... Any ideas?

Example, I cruise along at about 4000 rpm when it will drop down to 3500 then right back to 4000 rpm. Or, it will shoot up to like 4500 and i dont get any power (as if i put the clutch in for a second) then back down and resumes "normal activity".

The clutch is good so Im thinking maybe wires & plugs? Usually only happens in 3rd and 4th gear it seems... Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!!!!!

All your spark plugs wires on all the way?

Remove the engine cover. locate the intake and almost right behind the intake box you will see a connector pluged in to your MAF sensor. You can go to you local auto parts store and find some (MAF) Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner. Just remove the connector and remove two screws and it will come right out. I would suggest changing your ignition coils and spark plugs and why your at it you spark plug wires too.
